As we’ve learned by studying the Prophecy of the Popes, the final Pope will be named “Peter the Roman.”

After a Pope is selected, He has the ability to change his name into something that he chooses. However, I’d like to point out something very interesting about Pietro Parolin. Without any so-called name changes, “Pietro” translates to Peter in English. Humm… Even Further, Peter was born in Schiavon, Italy which is considered to be the heartland of the Roman Empire.

Peter the Roman!!!!

If Peter the Roman, were elected pope, according to the prophecy of the popes attributed to Saint Malachy, it would be highly significant—especially to those who believe in apocalyptic prophecy.

Here’s what you can expect, based on different perspectives:

1. Prophetic Perspective (St. Malachy’s Prophecy)

According to the final line in Malachy’s alleged list of 112 popes:

“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will reign Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations; and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful Judge will judge his people. The end.”

If this is fulfilled literally:

• Peter the Roman would be the last pope.
• His reign would coincide with great tribulation.
• Rome (the city of seven hills) would be destroyed.
• The Final Judgment would follow.

This would imply the beginning or climax of the end times.

2. Biblical/Christian Prophetic Outlook

Many Christians associate the last pope with:

• The False Prophet of Revelation (Revelation 13:11–18).
• A key religious figure in a One World Religion that supports the Antichrist.
• Possible apostasy or compromise of the gospel in the name of unity.

If Peter the Roman fulfills this role, you might expect:

• Miraculous signs deceiving many (Revelation 13:13–14).
• Global ecumenical or interfaith movements led by the Vatican.
• Persecution of true Christians who refuse to bow to this new religious system.

Implications

If Peter the Roman becomes pope:

• Many will interpret it as a sign of the imminent return of Christ.
• There could be worldwide panic or fascination with prophecy.
• The faithful should be spiritually prepared for deception, tribulation, and Christ’s return.

I’m fascinated to study how several religions fit into the teachings of the (KJV) Bible.

Mark 13:22 (KJV)

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”

About the False Prophet (Summary from Revelation):

The false prophet is mentioned by name in Revelation chapters 13, 16, 19, and 20. He:

• Performs miracles to deceive the world (Revelation 13:13–14).
• Causes people to worship the Beast (Revelation 13:12).
• Deceives those who dwell on the earth (Revelation 13:14).
• Is cast alive into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20).

These deceptions and global influence help lead the world into judgment and destruction, making him a key part of the system that “destroys the earth.”

So, does the False Prophet work with the Antichrist?

Revelation 13:11–14 (KJV)

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast…
And he doeth great wonders…
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles…”

• Explanation:
  This second beast (the false prophet) appears gentle (“like a lamb”) but speaks for Satan (“as a dragon”).
  He uses miracles to promote the first beast (the Antichrist) and leads the world into idolatry and rebellion.

Revelation 13:15–17 (KJV)

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast… and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
And he causeth all… to receive a mark… that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark…”

• Explanation:
  The false prophet enforces the mark of the beast and economic control.
  He becomes the religious and political enforcer of the Antichrist’s system.

Revelation 19:20 (KJV)

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast… These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

• Explanation:
  Both the Antichrist and the false prophet are captured at Christ’s return and judged together, confirming they worked in unity.

Now, it might be strictly my own opinion that Pietro Parolin will be chosen to be the new Pope. There are just too many “coincidental” signs pointing to him to fulfill biblical prophecy.

However, if someone else is chosen, I would still invite you to keep a very close eye on this person to see if he starts fulfilling the assignments of the False Prophet.
