NTEB SUNDAY SERVICE: God’s Hidden Soldiers

On this Sunday Service, we find out Elijah was surprised to find that God had 7,000 men standing by in the wings to assist Him when called upon, God’s hidden soldiers

The prophet Elijah wrought a glorious victory over the 450 prophets of Baal, but all that was soon forgotten as he fell into a deep depression after his encounter with King Ahab and his wife Jezebel. The LORD gave him rest, food, drink, and a new commission to get back in the battle with. Elijah thought he was the only one left, right up to the moment God revealed to him He had 7,000 hidden soldiers standing in the wings, waiting to be called in. My message today is on God’s Hidden Soldiers.

“And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.” 1 Kings 19:10

Christian, do you ever get weary and tired on the battlefield for the LORD? Do you sometimes fall into a state of depression? If you do, you’re in good company, the prophet Elijah experienced those things as well. I want to give you a word of encouragement today from the scriptures on the hidden soldiers God has waiting to assist you in your walk with Him.

God’s Hidden Soldiers 

“And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.” 1 Kings 19:10

“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” 1 Kings 19:11,12 (KJB)

“But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Romans 11:3,4 (KJB)

“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.” Acts 18:9-11 (KJB)
