Kamala Harris, The Product Nobody Wanted to Buy 4 Years Ago.
Kamala Harris got zero votes in her run for the presidency in 2020 as well as in the 2024 primary.
Her campaign strategy since Joe Biden dropped out of the race, tried to sell her to the public was initially based on feelings rather than facts.
Remember the “Joy” strategy?
Many products are advertised using a strategy that appeals to the part of the consumer’s mind that does not do the critical thinking. Back when cigarette companies could advertise on TV (pre 1971), it was obvious that many advertisement for cigarettes were selling an image:
Kool: Cool
Marlboro: Rugged cowboy type (even if you never rode a horse).
Benson & Hedges: Corporate ladder climbing preppy guy.
Virginia Slims: Women’s Libber (“Not like those fat cigarettes men smoke”).
Buy the image and kill yourself slowly.
So the Harris team wants to sell the Kamala product based on her being the happy (giddy giggling) joyful choice to unburden us from the past and promising a new way forward with no specifics as to how. There is also the ongoing endorsements of talented non-experts. This seems to have had no discernible positive effect.
When appeals to the emotional part of the brain did not work, the only strategy remaining was (and is) Lie Lie Lie. You can’t sell this product nobody wanted 4 years ago by presenting facts or by the products past performance.
Truth in Advertising:
When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence.
Apparently this applies to inanimate objects and services and not to people providing a service such as the public service of executing the duties of the President of the United States?
The lying strategy has not worked out so well for Kamala’s campaign. She is down in all the poles and has a trajectory of continuing down. To insure this fate, I have included a link to a video that does an excellent job of fact checking the Trump / Harris debate. CNN says Kamala lied one time. The fact checker in the video shows over 15 lies. This will be most useful to spread around to people you may know that have not switch their brain out of emotional touchy feely mode and into critical thinking mode:
