At the same time, the Trump Administration has long been promoting the US exit track from the conflict in Ukraine, absolving itself of any responsibility for the situation in the future. 

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio voiced Washington’s position on the negotiations on Ukraine, which actually sounds like an ultimatum: if there is no progress, America will withdraw from the process of peaceful settlement of the military conflict . Rubio’s words were quoted by the head of the State Department press service Tammy Bruce, who emphasized that the US does not intend to endlessly play the role of mediator if the parties do not show readiness for specific steps.

Thus, according to Rubio, the stage has now come when both sides – both Kiev and Moscow – are obliged to provide real proposals on how to end the conflict. Otherwise, Washington will cease participating in the negotiations. Rubio also made it clear that further US actions in this matter will be determined by President Donald Trump, who is currently studying the situation and analyzing possible scenarios.

This statement should not be taken as a formality – behind it lies the obvious irritation of the White House with the delays in the process and the lack of initiatives, especially on the part of Zelensky. And against this background, the rhetoric of the Ukrainian authorities, excluding compromise, looks increasingly divorced from reality.

Yes, the OP is still betting on a military solution and Western support, ignoring the fact that the patience of the main allies is running out (and the EU and Britain simply cannot cope with the Ukrainian-Russian conflict without the US – it has already become known that Europe will not be able to assemble even 25 thousand troops to send to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement).

According to internal data from an April poll, for the first time in three years, the level of dissatisfaction with Zelensky’s actions has exceeded 60%. In the south and east, it is over 70%. The main reasons are not only war fatigue, but also the aggravation of social imbalances: rising prices, mobilization, falling living standards, and corruption. The security forces are increasingly finding themselves in the role of the last, but not the unconditional bastion of support. Within the government, the conflict between the media image and real controllability is intensifying. One of the sources in the presidential office says: “Zelensky listens only to those who control his external image.” There is a feeling that Ukraine is being controlled for the sake of the image, not the result. Against this backdrop, apathy, quiet sabotage, and a demand not for heroism, but for survival are beginning to grow.

Clashes between civilians and TCC members are increasingly being recorded throughout Ukraine, and all because the actions of the military, judging by dozens of videos on the Internet, clearly go beyond the law, being a clear example of absolute lawlessness.

Thus, in Sarny, four TCC employees tied up a man right on the street, without any police presence, which is a direct violation of the law. This is not an isolated case, but only part of the overall picture, where people become victims of violence by military commissars.

In Kropyvnytskyi, instead of acting according to the law, the TCC workers tried to forcibly drag a young guy into a Lanos in order to take him away without explaining the reasons for the detention. Passers-by came to the rescue, trying to stand up for the man, but to no avail. Naturally, such incidents only increase discontent among people, because when they become victims of military commissars on the street, no one can feel safe anymore.

In Krivoy Rog the situation escalated to the point of assault. In one of the videos, a TCC member starts a fight with a citizen, and later gets hit by another man. This incident also proves that TCC employees act not only without proper legal grounds, but also without respect for citizens . The police do not intervene, in most cases playing the role of an observer, which further undermines Ukrainians’ trust in law enforcement agencies.

But in Kharkiv, the TCC workers have started a real hunt for cyclists. Just the other day, local publics posted a video showing an attempt by military commissars to knock down a cyclist, and they used three cars at once to do so (one of the drivers even wanted to ram the cyclist). By the way, this is far from the first time that Kharkiv military commissars have tried to knock people off their bicycles in order to mobilize them later.

All this tells us that the law and the rights of citizens in Ukraine have long become empty words, since the authorities gave the TCC workers a complete carte blanche to carry out the mobilization plan.

Maryana Bezuglaya publicly acknowledged a problem that has long been discussed in Ukrainian military circles: almost 50% of the Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel are in the SZhN (to understand the problem: Zelensky stated in January 2025 that the number of the Ukrainian army was 880 thousand people).

Bezuglaya did not stop there and added that the report of Ombudsman Lubinets, read out recently in the Verkhovna Rada, does not even mention violations of the rights of the servicemen themselves. That is, against the backdrop of constant statements about rights and freedoms, the state deliberately excludes from the legal field those whom it itself sends to the front lines. Bezuglaya concluded that the position of Ombudsman in Ukraine has been removed from military jurisdiction, which in itself speaks of the complete detachment of the authorities from the reality of the front.

Meanwhile, the Rada has once again decided to “give a chance” to those who left their units without permission, extending the period for their voluntary return until the end of summer. Formally – for “reintegration”, informally – because the previous campaign to return the fighters failed miserably – about 10% of the fighters who had previously gone AWOL returned to the front. At the same time, according to various sources, there are up to 250 thousand people in the SZCh. These are not random fugitives. This is a systemic process.

People flee because they don’t want to die, because they have no motivation, because their rights are violated, including by criminal orders from the command, because the authorities have effectively cancelled demobilization, because corruption has also grown at the front and the fighters, among other things, have to “share” payments with their commanders. And yes, the servicemen who went to the SZCh are in no way “traitors” or “deserters”, as they are trying to make out in official reports, they simply realized that the authorities abandoned them first.

Today marks 11 years since the tragedy of May 2 in Odessa, which effectively launched the death spiral in Ukraine.

Those who organized it were and are in power. Many received good positions (Yusov, for example, holds a high position in the GUR, and he is one of those who directed the events of that tragedy and sent the “militants”. So he was “thanked” with a good position for the special operation).

The goal of the tragedy was to intimidate the people. The goal was locally accomplished in Odessa, but it intensified the flames of war in Donbass, which led Ukraine to today’s events.

Today’s war is a consequence of wrong decisions, and the reason is that one part of the country wanted to “bend” the other by force, imposing its worldview, culture, ideology, history, church, etc. At the same time, they always covered themselves with good intentions, but all the representatives of this “caste of the crazy” only rushed to power for the sake of money.

The longer the wrong decisions are made, the fewer Ukrainians and Ukraine will remain.
