What’s Death Like? TEN Reported Events that You Should Know. They Change Everything.

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I have always been fascinated with stories that I have heard about people who have died, only to be brought back to life, and relaying facts that they have observed while being dead.

Many of us seek biblical scriptures to give us some understanding as to what life might be like after we die. There is indeed comfort in learning of the love and peace that awaits us when we cross over that line.

With the advancement of AI, I thought that it might be an interesting tool to gain further insight as to what happens to us when we die, told from the perspective of those who have had that experience. Imagine, taking all of the stories that have been told about death experiences that are available online, and let AI condense them into categories that are most consistent with people’s experiences.

What do these stories have in common? Excluding the bizarre outliers of a persons experience that no one else had, just considering the most frequent things that are being reported. Using this type of insight might give us the most probable “facts” of what we can expect when we die. Are you interested in learning what these things are? Well, let’s get right to it.

What Happens When People Die and Come Back? Common Themes in Near-Death Experiences

Throughout history, countless people have reported near-death experiences (NDEs)—moments when they were clinically dead or near death and then revived. Despite differences in background, culture, or beliefs, their stories often share striking similarities. These experiences have fascinated scientists, spiritual seekers, and skeptics alike. So, what are the most common themes reported by those who have crossed the threshold of death and returned? Let’s explore.

When I asked AI to share the most common experiences shared by those who have died, and then returned to tell about it, here was the results of that request:

1. Out-of-Body Experience (OBE)

“Many people describe a sensation of leaving their body and looking down at themselves from above. They often report seeing doctors or paramedics working to revive them, sometimes describing details they could not have physically seen from their original position.”

To me this is telling, and lends credibility to someone’s story. Seeing things that they could not have seen while remaining in their physical body, is a definite clue to me that their spirit has left their physical body. They are also able to observe things outside of the room, which is again telling that a spirit has the ability to sense where they are and the things happening around them.

This is an important identifier in knowing if someone is telling the truth about an experience, rather than just making up a story. It does not validate the entire experience, but allows it to start with some credibility.

2. Traveling Through a Tunnel

“A common experience is moving through a tunnel or a dark void toward a bright light. Some describe this journey as peaceful, while others feel a strong sense of urgency or anticipation.”

This sense of travel from the location of their physical body towards a light being consistently shared is encouraging to me. There is an immediate “agenda,” where people seem to be directed into the next phase, or place to go. Organization, not chaos…this is helpful.

3. Encountering a Brilliant Light

“Many people report seeing an incredibly bright yet comforting light. This light is often associated with warmth, love, and an overwhelming sense of peace.”

“Light” to me is also very encouraging as well. This light is explained as being “incredibly bright.” Light is comforting, and suggests a positive step into something better. Darkness, the opposite, would give a person the feeling of being lost, or doom.

The light being associated with love…Did you get that? I’d like for you to take a moment and put that statement into perspective. Have you ever… ever… seen a light and associated it with love?

The closest thing that I can imagine is for someone who is lost in the darkness, and finally comes upon a light in the distance, which might signify to them hope or being saved or rescued. A light that produces the emotion of love? Interesting.

Warmth is another chrematistic of the light. I’d like for you to take a moment and think of the times that you have felt warm inside. Not in the sense of physical temperature, but a warm burning sensation inside of you. Have you ever felt this? I can certainly relate to this. Most of the times that I have felt it have been associated with a spiritual conformation that the things that I am learning or studying are true. A fimilure signal of a spiritual sense, a warm feeling inside.

Another clue here is that spirits have feelings and emotions…perhaps even enhanced after death. We must consider all of this information and glean the facts of life after death.

Are you making a list of things that we can expect when we die? So far, everything is incredibly positive. Let’s keep going.

4. A Profound Sense of Love and Peace

“Even those who were previously afraid of death often describe feeling a deep, unconditional love and a sense of belonging. Many say they felt like they were finally “home.””

This, to me, is the most profound listing from this project. The natural response to the thought of dying is certainly everything but this. Being afraid, concerned about venturing into the unknown, these would be the typical response that most people would associate with death.

But from what the majority of people who have died and come back mare saying, that the feeling is so positive and loving that it is as we are returning home! Doesn’t this in itself satisfy the question that all of us have… What’s it like to die? “It is as if you are finally home.”

Feeling a sense of belonging is perhaps something that some of us never have on this earth. “Sometimes I feel that I don’t belong with this group, or in this school, or even around my family.” But not here. You will have the sense of belonging. Is there a better feeling?

5. A Life Review

“One of the most intriguing aspects of NDEs is the life review. Many report experiencing a panoramic replay of their life, seeing their choices and how they impacted others. This review is sometimes guided by a presence, and the person often feels not only their own emotions but also the emotions of those they affected.”

This one surprised me a bit. Not that it happened, but the fact that it happened to the majority of people. That is thought provoking.

I’d like to inject a though for you to consider about this response. What do you think the purpose of this is? If we believe that when we repent, that sin is removed, and God would no longer remember…we are as clean as white snow.

So, during this life review, do we see everything that we have done in our life at this time, or do you believe our repented sins will be removed for this viewing? This is not a judgment, just an experience.

Seeing things emotionally from the perspective of those whom our actions have affected is indeed helpful. When we have hurt others, it is important to understand things from their point of view. I personally would want to feel this, as I take full responsibility for all of my actions.

The fact that this replay of our life is but a flash of time is also telling. It’s as if the entire purpose is for understanding, or an indication that everything that we have done is stored into our minds: A mortal record of such. What are your thoughts about this one?

6. Meeting Beings of Light, Angels, or Deceased Loved Ones

“Some NDE survivors report meeting beings of light, angels, or deceased relatives. These beings communicate telepathically and often radiate immense love and wisdom. Many people are told that it is “not their time” and that they must return to their bodies.”

And so, the feeling of “welcome home,” makes perfect sense. I feel that many of us believe that we will once again see our loved ones when we die.

After my son died, I hung onto this concept to get me through the difficulty of the separation. Common sense also suggests that when we die, we will be going to the same place that others who have died before us have gone.

What a reunion this will be. Think of when someone that you have loved went away on vacation, or in the military, or were gone for some time…Remember the feeling of being reunited with them once again. EUPHOIRIC!! To once again be reunited with those whom we love, who have passed on, will be a celebration of epic proportion.

Is your view about dying changing as a result of reading this information? I can only imagine what a positive experience this will be. Let’s keep the information flowing. What else?

7. Receiving Profound Knowledge

“Some NDE survivors describe gaining deep insights into the meaning of life, the universe, and the nature of existence. However, much of this knowledge seems to fade once they return to their earthly life.”

Alright “Flat Earthers vs Globers”… There will be a greater understanding, as we will receive profound knowledge. We all have questions that we can seem to answer while on earth. Many, perhaps all, of those questions will be answered at this time.

Many of us hope that we can see the “big picture” while living on this earth. But, can you imagine receiving this kind of knowledge? To know so much more than we could ever dream of knowing? I can hardly wait.

8. Reaching a Border or Barrier

“Many NDEs include a moment where the individual encounters a boundary—a river, a door, or a threshold. Some are given a choice to return, while others are told that their time is not yet up.”

Obviously, some people that die, come back to life. The greater portion of people who die do not come back. This is an interesting reported fact, that they are given the choice, or at least have the discussion of returning to this earth. But why do you think that is so? Is this for the benefit of that person, or perhaps for the benefit of all of us in sharing their experience of life beyond death.

9. A Sudden Return to the Body

“The return to life is often abrupt. Some describe feeling as if they were pulled back forcefully, while others simply wake up in their body. Many report feeling disappointed or reluctant to return after experiencing such profound peace and love.”

For a moment, I’d like you to put yourself in the place of someone who has died… experienced all of the things that are written above, and then returning to this earth. What would be your emotions then? How would you feel?

Certainly, you’d be happy to see your loved ones on earth again, but you actually just left your loved ones on the other side. Would you feel cheated perhaps from experiencing this wonderful environment filled with love, only to return to a world full of despair? Happy?…Sad? Perhaps…BOTH!

10. A Changed Life

“One of the most remarkable effects of an NDE is the profound transformation that often follows. Many people who experience an NDE undergo significant changes in their beliefs, priorities, and personalities. They become more spiritual, more compassionate, and less materialistic. Some even lose their fear of death entirely.”

Wanting to become a better person from the experience is also quite telling. After an experience like this, it certainly would change a person’s life for the better. And from then on, you would also have a distant call and desire to return to such a special place.

Final Thoughts

“While skeptics argue that NDEs are simply the result of brain chemistry, lack of oxygen, or hallucinations, those who have experienced them often insist that what they saw and felt was real—more real than life itself. Whether you believe these experiences are spiritual, psychological, or something else entirely, there is no denying their profound impact on those who live to tell the tale.”

Thank you, AI for helping us see the results from so many people who have had this experience. We can now take the unknown regarding what like will be like when we die, and place it into the category of “events likely to happen” as a result of these findings.

It is not my intent to drive someone to accelerate the process, and die through your own actions in order to get to this glorious place sooner than scheduled. If that were the case, perhaps your experience would not be the same as those listed above. But when you face fear, doubt, and the desire to stay alive at all costs… even if it means making a deal with the devil, perhaps you can remember these things that I have written, and the loving environment that you will be in when you cross over to the other side.

I ask that you do not fear death. It will be a celebration when your mortal journey has been completed. Filled with a sense of belonging, love, as if you are indeed Coming Home.

As we review these details, we can begin to see that our step into the other side through the process of death should not be one of fear, but rather the opening of a door to welcome you home.
