The Chicago Cubs pursuit to host the 2027 All-Star game hinges on 1 key factor
Chicago Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney recently spoke on Inside the Clubhouse about the possibility of the 2027 All-Star game being played at Wrigley Field. The organization is way overdue to host the mid-summer classic, but commissioner Rob Manfred wants one specific area of the ballpark addressed prior.

The last time the mid-summer classic took place in Chicago was 1990. At that time, second baseman Ryne Sandberg and outfielder Andre Dawson were representing the team. Unfortunately, the National League recorded just two hits, the fewest of any All-Star team in history.
That game also is remembered by having a rain delay in the seventh inning. The American League won the contest by a score of 2-0.
Is it realistic for Wrigley Field to be the host of the 2027 All-Star game?
With the 2025 and 2026 All-Star games already having host sites, Kenney believes that it is a realistic expectation for Wrigley Field to host the 2027 All-Star game. “The commissioner has made it clear: fix your security issue, and I’ll award you an All-Star Game,” Kenney said. Hopefully, the Cubs, along with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Office of Tourism, the Chicago Department of Transportation, and other officials, can make this a reality.
