The injury bug is starting to hit the Chicago Cubs.

On Saturday night, the Cubs lost an outfielder in their contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Per Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times, designated hitter Seiya Suzuki exited Saturday night’s game due to wrist pain. Catcher Miguel Amaya served as a pinch hitter for Suzuki.

“Seiya Suzuki exited with right wrist pain, according to the Cubs,” Lee posted on X. “Miguel Amaya pinch hit for him in the fifth inning, after he’d had two at-bats.”

Suzuki went 0-for-2 at-bat on Saturday night. Amaya went 2-for-3 at bat through the eighth inning.

Suzuki is batting .302/.400/.556 this season with four home runs and 15 RBIs. The right fielder has taken 11 walks.

Amaya is batting .242/.235./.364 this season with eight RBIs.

The Cubs built an impressive lead through the eighth inning, taking an 11-0 lead on the Dodgers. Chicago entered Saturday night’s contest on a two-game losing streak, including losing the series opener 3-0 to Los Angeles.

The Cubs will complete their series against the Dodgers on Sunday. It’s unclear whether Suzuki will be available for the game.
