The Anti-Christ – Could it Be One of These Three People?

The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible does not explicitly say that the Antichrist comes from Rome. However, many Bible scholars and prophecy teachers over the centuries have inferred this idea from passages in Daniel and Revelation, interpreting symbolism to point to Rome as the origin of the Antichrist. Here’s a look at the most commonly referenced scriptures:

Daniel 9:26 (KJV)

“And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

• Interpretation: The “people of the prince that shall come” refers to the Romans, who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD. Therefore, many believe the Antichrist (“the prince that shall come”) will arise from the revived Roman Empire.

Revelation 13:1-2 (KJV)

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns… and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

• Interpretation: The “beast” is often associated with the Antichrist. The seven heads and ten horns mirror the fourth beast in Daniel 7, which is commonly linked to Rome. Revelation 17 later says the seven heads are seven mountains, which many take to be a reference to the seven hills of Rome.

“…and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible… it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn…”

• Interpretation: The “little horn” is interpreted as the Antichrist. The fourth beast is widely understood to represent Rome, so the Antichrist (little horn) emerges from a revived Roman Empire structure.

As of April 14, 2025, several European (“Roman”) leaders are actively engaged in global peace initiatives, reflecting Europe’s prominent role in international diplomacy. While no single leader has emerged as a unifying figure for global peace, the following individuals are notable for their efforts. Let’s take a look at three leaders who could potentially fit the role of the anti-Christ:

🇪🇺 Kaja Kallas – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs

Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s top diplomat since December 2024, has been instrumental in shaping the EU’s foreign policy. She has taken strong stances on various international issues, including:

• Condemning China’s support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine.​
• Criticizing perceived appeasement strategies towards Russia.​
• Advocating for renewed negotiations to end conflicts in regions like Gaza.​

Her assertive approach has positioned her as a significant voice in European diplomacy. ​

🇬🇧 Keir Starmer – Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Prime Minister Starmer has emphasized the UK’s renewed commitment to global leadership. His contributions include:​

• Addressing the U.N. General Assembly to signal the UK’s dedication to resolving international conflicts.​
• Co-leading a “coalition of the willing” with France to support Ukraine through military aid and economic measures.​

These efforts reflect the UK’s active role in promoting global peace and stability. ​

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts concerning peace in the Middle East, including discussions with Israeli leaders.​

In July 2024, shortly after assuming office, Starmer held phone conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. During these calls, he emphasized the UK’s commitment to a two-state solution and the recognition of Palestinian statehood as part of the peace process. ​

While these leaders are making significant strides in their respective roles, the complex nature of global conflicts means that a singular leader uniting the world in peace remains an aspirational goal. Nonetheless, Europe’s collective diplomatic efforts continue to play a crucial role in addressing international challenges.​

However, one does not have to speculate who the anti-Christ will be, as the scriptures give us a way to determine who that leader will be.

Daniel 9:27 (KJV)

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

• “He shall confirm the covenant” – Interpreted by many as referring to the Antichrist.
• “With many” – Understood as Israel and possibly other nations.
• “For one week” – In prophetic language, a “week” often means 7 years (based on the “70 weeks” prophecy, where each week represents 7 years).
• “In the midst of the week” – After 3.5 years, the Antichrist breaks the covenant.
• “Cause the sacrifice… to cease” – Suggests that Jewish temple sacrifices will be stopped.
