Senator Kennedy and Nominee Shumate on Weaponizing National Injunctions
In a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. John Kennedy questioned an Assistant AG nominee about universal injunctions used against President Trump. An excellent analysis on the issue. The hearing was held last week.

Because House Speaker Johnson sent everyone home in a tiff yesterday. Nine GOPers joined the Dems to pass the Rep. Luna bill over voting by proxy. Why Johnson called it quits is unclear as two important votes were scheduled to be voted on this week. Even worse, Rep. Luna in this side show, totally over shadowed a hearing she put together yesterday afternoon concerning the Kennedy assassination which included heavy hitters such as Oliver Stone. YouTube has the hearing for those interested. Good stuff. Of course the hearing got buried with her nonsense.
Johnson Shuts Down House for Week After Squabble Over Remote Voting
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) canceled the week’s remaining votes Tuesday after a rare procedural vote defeat.
A resolution by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) to allow new parents to vote by proxy without traveling to Washington triggered the fight. Luna, who gave birth to a child last year, has crusaded to return Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) pandemic-era practice of proxy voting but limited to parents.
Opponents of Luna’s resolution, including Johnson, argue it is unconstitutional – the Constitution requires that a quorum, defined as a majority of House members, be present on the House floor while transacting business.
Other than that, the GOP continues to make a mess of it. Musk, Trump and dozens of others working non-stop and congress can’t get their act together.
