The Ukraine vs. Gonzalo Lira.
It is encumbent on the palace in Kiev to disclose the fate of Gonzalo Lira.
Since being taken into custody, nothing has been heard of him.
He was after all a dissident.
Nothing more and nothing less.
In fact he was even less than that; simply a critic.
He was critical of both sides in the conflict as can be seen from his videos.
If you are wrong you should accept criticism in good grace. It is for your own good, as well as others, after all.
The fact that he chose to remain in Ukraine belies this fact.
He was a non belligerent.
He hurt nobody, with the exception of falling off his bike and hurting himself.
He was a foreign national, from Chile, and hence held no responsibility of patriotic duty or even allegiance to Ukraine.
He simply called things as he saw them.
Just as others such as Seymour Hersch, Colonel Magreggor and Scott Ritter do, to name just a few.
And yet he was hunted down as if he was threatening to overthrow the state.
Such actions do not make for a civilised society.
Rather they turn the citizens of the country away from you.
For only by distancing themselves from that kind of state can they remain true to themselves and to humanity – and to their own humanity.
Time you discovered yours.
