NSW Criminalises LGBT Conversion Practices
Performing conversion practices now carries up to 5 years’ jail in NSW; taking someone interstate for it risks 3 years’ jail.
While the law targets practices aimed at forcibly changing or suppressing identity, it does not ban general religious teaching or private conversations between parents and children. “This legislation is focused on protecting people from targeted, sustained efforts to change who they are,” the NSW government said.

“How is that reciprocal? Reciprocal would mean a 3.9 per cent tariff on Korea, not 25 per cent. It would mean a 3.9 per cent tariff on Japan, not 24 per cent. This is why these numbers, 10 per cent, 17 per cent, 20 per cent, or 25 per cent, are so huge. They are ratios.”

Several big banks issued the largest margin calls to their clients since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020. I am told these Margin Calls are “much larger than during the 2008 Great Financial Crisis.”
The margin calls underscore the intense turbulence in global markets on Thursday and Friday as Trump’s tariffs announcement was followed by retaliatory duties by China, and other countries readied their own responses. Wall Street’s S&P 500 share index was set to post its worst week since 2020, while oil and riskier corporate bonds have sold off heavily.

Conrad Black– Mark Carney’s book is the most turgid work of a political leader that I have read since Hitler’s Mein Kampf, (though in no other respect would I compare it to that book although Hitler, hard though it is to believe, at least as an author, had a better sense of humour than Mr. Carney.
