On Monday, April 21, the NFL will kick off its 2025 NFL Draft community events with a greening project in partnership with Verizon, Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, the State of Wisconsin and the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers to enhance green spaces at the Amelia Cornelius Culture Park in Green Bay. In honor of Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, dozens of local volunteers will participate in a large-scale cleanup project across the Fox-Wolf Watershed, a significant waterway in the Green Bay area.
As part of the NFL’s ongoing efforts to empower youth and support the next generation of leaders, on Tuesday, April 22, the NFL will host a Character Playbook Speaker Series – NFL Draft event. The event will bring together panelists from around the league, students local to Green Bay and students from across the country who have participated in Character Playbook to discuss themes found in the courses, Character Playbook – Building Healthy Relationships and Understanding Mental Wellness. Through the league’s Character Playbook initiative, the NFL is committed to building stronger, more resilient communities by equipping students with the skills needed to form healthy relationships and protect their mental health.
On Wednesday, April 23, the NFL will host its annual Play Football Prospect Clinic. At the event, top prospects in Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft will participate in a flag football clinic, engaging and connecting with local Special Olympics athletes and youth football players. NFL Draft prospects, along with NFL Network Draft analysts Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, and Joel Klatt, will be available to the media following the flag football portion of the event. Together, the NFL Foundation and Green Bay Packers will provide a joint $150,000 grant to non-profit Compudopt, which will gift nearly 500 new and refurbished devices to the district for student use in-school and at home.
Throughout the week, NFL partners will also host events celebrating the Green Bay community. As a part of Lowe’s longstanding commitment to improving the communities it serves, on Thursday, April 24, Green Bay Packers Legend Clay Matthews will join Lowe’s red vest associates to support a new development located within Habitat for Humanity of Greater Green Bay’s Habitat Homestead. Further, at the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft, the products used in the Draft Green Room Built by Lowe’s will be donated to the homeowners within Habitat Homestead, allowing them to start envisioning life in their new homes.
In addition, this year in Green Bay, inspirational fans, community leaders and special guests will participate in the 2025 NFL Draft by announcing select picks live on stage. This year’s special guests will include representatives from NFL non-profit partners like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Special Olympics, as well as NFL Salute to Service military charitable partners the USO, Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors (TAPS), and the Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF). The NFL will also help grant wishes for two Make-A-Wish kids when they announce the first-round pick of their favorite teams on Day 1 of the Draft.
Throughout the Draft, the NFL will recognize our country’s military community through the league’s Salute to Service initiative. Crown Royal’s Hall of Heroes is a new partnership between Crown Royal, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and the NFL’s Salute to Service Initiative. Together, we’re recognizing the sacrifice and contributions of our nation’s heroes by honoring and enshrining them into the inaugural 2025 Hall of Heroes at the NFL Draft. Before the first round kicks off at Lambeau Field, NFL Legend DeMarcus Ware and Co-Founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation Dave Woodruff will lead a special ceremony recognizing 32 veterans – each representing an NFL team’s passionate fan base – followed by a VIP experience at the NFL Draft. The Hall of Heroes reflects Crown Royal and the NFL’s deep-rooted commitment to the veteran and military communities.
Earlier this month, as an Official Salute to Service Partner of the NFL, USAA invited NFL Draft prospects Ashton Jeanty and Jalen Milroe to visit the Wisconsin Air National Guard Base at General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to experience a day-in-the-life of service members. The prospects toured the base, saw multiple military aircraft, and signed autographs for 50 military members stationed at the base.

Sustainability:
Sustainability is a core focus for the NFL, and the league is committed to reducing the environmental impact at each of our events. The NFL strives to not only make each Draft more sustainable than the last but also to leave a lasting “green legacy” in the host’s community. To improve sustainability at this year’s Draft, the NFL is:
- Donating materials and food: The NFL is helping reusable materials find a second life after the Draft.
- 30+ Donation Organizations: Over 30 local organizations – from food banks, to pet shelters, to youth sports leagues – will have the opportunity to receive and repurpose Draft items.
- Tons of donations: Last year’s Draft donations totaled over $200,000 in food and materials, with hopes to exceed that in Green Bay. The NFL expects to donate thousands of pounds of food, and hundreds of thousands of square feet of materials such as carpet, vinyl, plywood, and fence mesh, amongst much more.
- Diverting waste: The NFL is boosting recycling efforts, both for fans and behind the scenes.
- Extra bins: Hundreds of extra recycling and compost bins are placed throughout the Draft footprint. Sustainability staff are located at the busiest locations and can be found at dedicated waste stations on the Draft map.
- Added sorting behind the scenes: Behind the scenes, the NFL is sorting recycling and compost bags to reduce contamination and maximize waste diversion from landfills.
- Tracking and reducing carbon: The NFL is measuring and working to reduce its carbon footprint at the Draft.
- Carbon Tracking: The NFL is calculating the emissions for various elements of Draft 2025, including energy used throughout the Draft site, fuel burned for staff flights, and the carbon footprint of the food & merchandise sold.
- Future planning: These carbon measurements are part of larger efforts for the NFL to understand the carbon footprint of events and will be used to plan and prioritize actions to reduce carbon for future events.
The NFL will also pursue several additional community greening projects to leave a lasting ‘green legacy’ in Green Bay and beyond. In the weeks following the NFL Draft, 35 trees will be planted in Brown County Parks, including Pamperin Park and Bayshore County Park, thanks to support from NFL sponsor Verizon, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers and Brown County Parks. In addition, 5,120 seedlings (20 for each NFL Draft pick) will be planted in nearby Douglas Forest to support wildlife restoration efforts.

Driven to serve a greater purpose in life, Kevin enrolled in the ROTC and became an Army aviation officer. During his military career, he developed a passion for mentoring and developing others, pursuing this calling by becoming an instructor pilot and commanding the Army’s only Chinook flight school. During a deployment, Kevin’s unit was accompanied by a service dog that brought comfort to soldiers, reduced loneliness and even flew in his helicopter wearing specialized hearing protection. This experience inspired Kevin to share the benefits of animal-assisted therapy with others. Upon redeployment, Kevin certified his golden retriever as a therapy dog and began volunteering in the local community.
