A Nation Divided

We all have been aware that our Nation is divided. Before Clinton I think most of us on both sides of the aisle could agree to disagree. What I see now is more than troubling. The Right thinks people on the Left are decent people with wrong ideas, the Left thinks people on the Right are evil, Nazi, racists, homophobes, xenophobes, and violence is necessary.

Although I think it started much earlier, I first became aware of it when Obama was elected. We had just proven we were not a racist country by electing a Black President but Obama started telling us our country was “systematically racist”. Then if we criticized an Obama policy the media called us racist even though it was policy we criticized not the man. Presidents have been criticized since Washington but now it was racist to do so. Racist, racist, racist was the BIG LIE repeated until it was believed. It was during that time that the media no longer even tried to disguise their bias. And “racist” became only one of the numerous epithets thrown at us.

Our justice system became two tiered during that time as well. If the Left did something unethical, immoral, or criminal it was ignored but if the Right did it was the crime of the century. A perfect example is the passionate call for “due process” for criminal illegal aliens when there was no concern for the lack of “due process” for J6 being held in prison with no bail for misdemeanor offenses. The “Summer of Love” where cities were burned down, stores looted, a police office looted & burned, police cars burned & 24 people killed was called “mostly peaceful”. Hollywood and Kamala Harris raised money to bail out any arrested protestors. But J6 protesters who burned nothing, destroyed nothing, killed no one were in prison for years with no court date. Jacob Chansley, the Q Shaman, who committed no crimes, was in solitary confinement for 10 months.

When Trump won his first term, Leftists rioted through downtown DC, breaking windows, setting fires. Leftist women wore “pussy hats” and vagina costumes, while Madonna said she dreamed of blowing up the White House. Johnny Depp wondered when was the last time an actor assassinated a President. Snoop Dog did a performance showing Trump being shot and Kathy Griffin held up a bloody severed Trump head.

The Left insisted Trump stole the election, that he colluded with Russia and the legacy media spent three years saying Trump colluded with Russia with no evidence at all. Zip, zero, nada. They lied about Trump, they ignored his successes, and impeached him twice.

When Biden was elected in a very questionable election we believed the election was stolen but we didn’t hold up bloody severed heads or wish him dead. We didn’t loot or burn. We concentrated on winning the next election….and we did…by a landslide.

That made the Left and legacy media lose their minds. Trump ran on securing the border and deporting the 20 million illegal aliens (that included some of the most vicious criminals & gangs in the world) that had invaded our country the last four years. But now the Left, who didn’t object when Clinton and Obama deported illegal aliens, are fighting like crazy to prevent any illegal aliens from being deported. The media describes an MS13, wife beating, human trafficker, as a “Maryland father”.

I’ve never seen American’s act so irrationally and violently. During COVID there were people on the Left who wished unvaxed people be put in camps or be denied healthcare or die. There are video’s of people screaming at people wearing MAGA hats, a woman on a plane was removed because she wouldn’t stop insulting a young Trump supporter.

We have death threats almost daily against President Trump and Elon Musk. I don’t recall this level of threat happening before. Elon Musk is a hero and like Trump the Left loved him until he moved Right. Every President has said they wanted to get rid of waste and abuse but when Trump and Elon actually are doing it the Left has melted down. People burning and vandalizing Teslas even though most are owned by fellow Leftists. When did Americans decide vandalism was acceptable?

I have said this before but it needs repeating and repeating. When you have the legacy media repeating a dozen times a day that Trump and his supporters are Nazis, racists, homophobes, a threat to democracy, wanna be dictators, the uninformed, mentally unstable people are going to think they need to act against this threat.

If this is to ever stop we need an honest, impartial media. We need a Congress that doesn’t just oppose the opposition but does what is best for all. And we need a judicial branch that follows the laws not makes them.
